About Matthew Tedesco

I grew up on Long Island in a blue-collar family where hard work wasn’t just expected—it was non-negotiable. My mom, a single parent for much of my early childhood, was the kind of woman who didn’t let drama get in the way of action. She stretched every dollar like it was a competitive sport and made sure any extra went toward education. That investment opened doors I didn’t even know existed—and I’ve been trying to walk through them without tripping ever since.

Fast forward a few decades, and I've built a career leading teams, growing businesses, and navigating the wild ride of change across the design and manufacturing world. I currently work with some of the biggest companies in the world to not just grow revenue, but to build high-performing teams people actually want to be part of. Through years of experience, I've developed a leadership philosophy centered on effective communication and intentional culture-building, recognizing that numbers alone don't tell the complete story of a successful organization.

What's always mattered most to me is how we lead and how we communicate—because that's where culture lives (or dies). That belief is what inspired The Business Buffet, my upcoming book about leadership and communication with intention, clarity, and a little bit of flavor. While I've worn many professional titles—VP, GM, strategist, builder—I've consistently seen myself as someone who connects dots, tells stories, and helps people move forward through both challenges and opportunities.

Outside of work, music and photography are two lifelong passions that help me stay curious, stay grounded, and occasionally look cooler than I actually am. Whether I’m writing a new track or chasing the perfect shot, I bring that same creative energy to culture-building: listening closely, watching carefully, and staying in rhythm with the people around me. That spirit shows up in my role as board chair for Global Nomad Group (GNG), a non-profit that supports youth education and opportunity around the world. GNG is a reminder that meaningful work doesn’t just happen inside corporate walls—it happens wherever you bring your full self.

And speaking of full selves: I live with my amazing wife (who’s far more patient than I deserve), our teenage son (a better athlete, student, and human than I ever was), and our Labradoodle, who has never once respected a conference call when the mailman shows up. They’re the heart of everything for me—my reset button, my cheering section, and my daily reminder to stay grateful, stay humble, and never take any of this too seriously.

At the end of the day, I’m just trying to do meaningful work with good people, create things that matter, and enjoy the ride—awkward dance moves and all.
